Brooke Boncher

My name is Brooke and I live in Amesbury Massachusetts with my husband Nathan, two cats and a dog. I love to travel and In addition to being an artist I also consider myself to be an athlete. In college I swam competitively and competed in the Olympic trials in swimming.
 
Currently, I teach 6-8th grade boys Fine Art at St. John's Preparatory School (it is an all boys school). Prior to this, I was the head of the art program at Hampstead Academy, a small private school that ran programs from pre-k through 8th grade. This is my fourteenth year of teaching art and the middle school level has always been my favorite to teach.
 
Having a language learning disability, school has always been a struggle for me and Art has always been my favorite class. As a student, I reveled in the opportunity to think creatively and have the opportunity to work with my hands to create.
 
As an art educator I love the  opportunity to use art to speak to the lives and talents of many young people, to encourage them to develop their minds and hearts, and engage with the world around them. It is my aspiration as an art teacher to help my students not only succeed in their artistic endeavors but also become stronger, well-rounded people in the process.
